Platform Terminology
A reference guide to terms used across Qazelimorix documentationThe Qazelimorix platform and its supporting documentation use a consistent set of terms to describe the service, its components, and the processes involved in classification and review. This page explains those terms so that users can engage with the documentation with a clear understanding of the language being used.
The terms listed here are specific to how Qazelimorix describes its own service. Some of them overlap with general technology vocabulary, but their meaning in this context is defined by how the platform uses them rather than by any external standard.
Terms and Definitions
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Classification | The process by which the Qazelimorix system assigns an item of information to one or more defined categories. Classification occurs automatically when information is submitted to or processed by the system, based on criteria that are set at the system level. |
| Category | A defined grouping within the Qazelimorix classification structure. Each category represents a distinct type or topic of information. Items in the same category share one or more characteristics that the classification rules use to group them together. |
| Sub-grouping | A division within a category that separates items according to a secondary characteristic. Sub-groupings allow users to navigate to a more specific set of records within a broader category without losing the context of the wider classification structure. |
| Record | A single item of information that has been received and classified by the system. A record consists of its content — the information itself — and its classification metadata, which describes where the record sits within the category structure. |
| Classification metadata | Information attached to each record that describes its classification state. This typically includes the category assigned to the record, any sub-grouping, and the timestamp of the most recent classification event. Metadata is displayed alongside the record content in the entry detail view. |
| Classified information view | The main display area of the Qazelimorix interface, where records are presented in their organised, category-based arrangement. This is the primary tool through which authorised users review information on the platform. |
| Navigation panel | A persistent element of the platform interface that lists the available top-level categories and allows users to move directly between them without retracing navigation steps. The panel also indicates the user's current location within the classification structure. |
| Entry detail view | A focused display of a single record, including its full content and all associated classification metadata. Users access the entry detail view by selecting an individual record from within a category or sub-grouping. |
| Filtered display | A view within a section that shows only the records matching a selected sub-classification. A filtered display narrows what is visible on screen without altering the underlying record or its classification data. |
| Access request | A formal enquiry submitted by a user seeking permission to view the classified information within the Qazelimorix platform. Access requests are submitted through the Enquire page and are reviewed by the support team individually. |
| Support channel | The contact route available to users for raising questions, flagging classification queries, or submitting access requests. The primary support channel is the enquiry form on the Enquire page, which directs messages to the support team by email. |
| Classification event | An instance in which the system processes an item and assigns or updates its classification. The timestamp of the most recent classification event is recorded in the record's metadata and is visible in the entry detail view. |
| Top-level view | The broadest level of the navigation structure, where all available categories are listed. Users typically begin their navigation session from the top-level view before moving into individual categories and sub-groupings. |
| Information layer | A conceptual term for the way in which the Qazelimorix interface organises information at different depths of specificity. Moving from the top-level view into sub-groupings represents moving through successive information layers within the classification structure. |
| Authorised user | A person or account that has been granted access to the Qazelimorix platform interface following a successful access review. Authorised users can view classified information and use the platform's review tools. Access is granted at the discretion of the support team. |
| Support queue | The collection of active enquiries and flagged records that the support team is currently reviewing. When a user flags a record or submits an enquiry, it enters the support queue to be addressed by the team in order of receipt. |
